What is kendo stick?

A kendo stick, also known as a shinai, is a weapon used in the Japanese martial art of kendo. It is a long and slender bamboo sword that is used for striking and thrusting movements during sparring matches.

The shinai is made up of four bamboo slats bound together with leather strips. It is designed to simulate the weight and feel of a real sword while providing a degree of safety during practice matches. The kendo stick is typically held in both hands with one hand gripping the hilt and the other hand positioned along the length of the blade.

Due to its focus on precision and control, kendo has gained popularity not only as a martial art but as a form of exercise and personal development. It emphasizes discipline, respect, and perseverance, making it valuable not only as a physical activity but as a way to develop character and self-awareness.
